  1. Select a natural resources topic to investigate
    • Select from the list below, or choose your own
    • Make sure your topic is narrow enough - focus on a specific issue or question (ask for help if you need to focus it)
  2. Select an index from the list below, and search for articles on your topic
    • Remember to dig deep, and utilize subject terms, if possible
  3. Pick 5 articles that are relevant to your topic and look promising.
  4. E-mail the citations to those 5 articles to the address listed above. In your message, also include:
    • Your name
    • Your topic
    • The index that you used
    • The terms you used in your search
    • A 1-sentence comment about the process

Water Resources Abstracts – Provides summaries of the world's technical and scientific literature on water-related topics

Wildlife and Ecology Studies Worldwide – I ndex to world literature on mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and birds; includes studies on all aspects of their life cycles and behaviors, including hunting and management research

Fish and Fisheries Worldwide – An excellent resource for identifying fish/fisheries-related literature, including federal and state government published reports

Academic Search Premier – Covers a large number of publications in and outside of natural resources
